Nadja Holm

Modular techno, recorded in one take or not at all
Holm builds her tracks on a patchbay she has never photographed, and refuses to save presets — every X24 release of hers is a single unrepeatable pass to quarter-inch tape. She joined the label with the second catalogue number and has since produced the only X24 record to be repressed twice.
Kettleworks

Two brothers, one broken sampler, endless hardware repairs
Sam and Tobias Ferreday work out of a converted kettle factory on the edge of Hunslet, which is where the name comes from and where every X24 mastering session happens. Their drums are recorded through the building itself — a 14-second reverb tail down a disused stairwell.
Oyinda Marsh

Dub-plate pressure and half-speed vocals
Marsh came to X24 from sound-system culture and brought the low end with her. She cuts every arrangement to acetate before signing off on it, on the grounds that a track which cannot survive a dub-plate should not be pressed at all.

Field recordings from industrial basements
A rotating collective — currently four people, previously seven — who record in mechanical plant rooms and boiler houses and then build rhythm out of what the buildings were already doing. Their debut for the label used no drum machine at all.
Delia Santoro

Slow acid, long fades, unhurried
Santoro writes 11-minute tracks and refuses to edit them down for radio. She mixes at a stubbornly low volume — 68 dB at the desk, measured — which is why her records sit so well against louder ones in a set.

Electro built for cold rooms
The newest signing and the fastest turnaround the label has managed: demo received in March, lacquer cut in June. Hex Tenant sequences everything on a tracker from 1994 and has strong opinions about swing.
